Aaron Berman, PhD
I am a philosopher and educator currently teaching at Eugune Lang College at the New School in New York City. My research is in social metaphysics and my primary focus is on race and the social ontology of capitalism.
I am currently working on two book projects, a study of the metaphysical commitments of Marx’s critique of political economy that interprets Marx in the social realist tradition that runs through Aristotle and Ibn Khaldun, and an interdisciplinary study of the historical construction of race in the colonial Spanish and French empires.
I hold a PhD from The New School for Social Research, a joint MA from The Center for Research in Modern European Philosophy and Universite Paris 8
